Boriskie Returns From Fort Worth With Cattle And Poultry Insights

Duke Reed Wedding At Home Of Bride's Mother

Mudville man jailed for alleged murder after fight over wife

Monroe Roberson is charged with the murder of Eulish Hines in Mudville after a Friday afternoon dispute over Robersons wife. He says Hines attacked, a pistol dropped, and Roberson fired during a struggle for the weapon. The hearing is set for Monday at 10 before Judge Hamilton. Frank Cangelo arrested Roberson and brought him to Bryan.

Republicans name capable candidate for governor

J Allen Myers says Republicans have nominated a capable and efficient man to vote for in November. He returned from Dallas where he helped select Dr George C Butte dean of the UT law school as Republican candidate to oppose Miriam Ferguson. First HCH School Grid Team Eyes Sept 19 Opener

The HCH football squad returns from Munson Shoals camp in fine shape and eager for the season. New recruits strengthen the lineup though mostly raw. Jim Kurten joins the team and could become a key player after experience. Practice runs daily 3:30 to 6 with Bremond game set for Friday September 19, as Coach Wilson drills fundamentals and unit play.

Franklin Lovellwed in Sunday ceremony at Rev Meads home

Charlie Franklin and Miss Ellen Lovell were married by Rev. W J Meads on Sunday at 9 30 p m at his home. The couple traveled to their farm on the Smetana road west of Bryan after the ceremony, accompanied by the groom's brother Diff Franklin.

Hearne Store Burns in Early Morning Blaze

A wayside store operated by D. Haper one and a half miles from Hearne was destroyed by fire. The business drew mainly tourist patrons. Property loss stood around 1500 with partial insurance.
