District Court Notes Report Guilty Pleas and Sentences

News notes from George Booker and surrounding cases. A Black man pleaded guilty to manufacturing intoxicating liquor and received one year in the penitentiary. A white man, Paul Brannon, pleaded guilty to auto theft and drew two years. A Black man, Nelson Shanklin, pleaded guilty to operating under the influence and was fined 75 dollars. Aged Caldwell Man Travels Texas in Buggy

F. J. Wotipka aged 79 travels by horse and buggy with his son and son in law from Caldwell. He visited Bryan to ask the Eagle office for the best return route and checked if Pitts Bridge was open. With a bad asthma he prefers the old horse to driving a car and hopes to improve his health wandering the countryside.
