Bryan and Brazos Chamber Directors Meet On Tuesday

The Bryan and Brazos County Chamber of Commerce board met at 10 o'clock with President Tyler Haswell and Secretary Eberstadt presiding. Members discussed hosting a reception for A M College teachers and local schools on October 6 at Bryan Country Club and considered establishing a Bryan tourist camp, referring the matter to the City Development and Highway Committee. Secretary Eberstadt reported the Tabor Fair arrangements and attendance.

The Brazos County Singing Convention gathered at Steep Hollow church on Sunday with nearly a thousand attendees. Cleve Buchels Leg Broken at Tabor Rodeo

Cleve Buchels of the Shep Clay plantation broke both bones in his right leg between the knee and ankle when he fell from a horse after his spur failed at the Tabor Community Fair rodeo. He was taken to Bryan for medical care as about $50 was raised by rodeo attendees to help him. John C. Vick returned from Llano with two carloads of hogs for Brazos County fattening prospects. Navasota Welcomes Brazos County Concrete Highway

The old bad road through the Navasota bottoms north of Navasota in Brazos County has been replaced by a 1.6 mile 18 foot wide concrete stretch costing about 45000 dollars. Opened after travel tests, it features wide drainage ditches and strong bankings to withstand Brazos river overflow. The project, done by Brazos County authorities, draws praise from Navasota merchants and visitors who toured the site with the Post.
