An ordination service at the Free Baptist church in Bryan welcomed newly elected deacons D P D Vasbinder Parker Carroll Harry Edge and Earl Tatum. Hold-over deacons J L Edge and T A Cloud remain from the former board Rev J J Tatum reviewed the church history and gave the ordaining sermon Rev C B Thompson presided read Psalm 84 and offered the ordination prayer followed by Tatum’s charge to the new deacons.

Brazos Federation Holds Quarterly Meeting at Free Baptist Church

The Brazos Federation of Church Societies held its regular quarterly meeting at the Free Baptist church from 3:30 to 5 pm. Mrs. W. G. Reynolds led a program including song, Psalm reading, prayer, and a vocal solo. Mrs. S. L. Mangis spoke on Women's Place in the Home, Politics and Church. A brief business session followed with Mrs. M. R. Bentley presiding and Mrs. D. C. DeMaret as secretary-treasurer. The event highlighted unity among Bryan churchwomen.

Birthday Dinner in Barbecue Style for J Wingate Barron
