Bread Cards To Be Issued In Paris Soon

Bread cards will be issued shortly in Paris in the form of books with detachable coupons. The daily bread allowance is about ten ounces per person, with manual laborers receiving double. The system applies to towns and cities only, and not rural districts. Bakers may bake loaves of any shape, with a probable uniform price of five cents per pound nationwide.

J H Foster state forester reports a federal state patrol program spanning about 9 000 000 acres in eighteen east Texas counties during the last fiscal year. German Prisoners Are Well Treated

Washington reports the German government will be informed of steps under President Wilson's enemy alien proclamation to restrain unnatur alized Germans in the United States. About 600 interned already, with modest increases expected, prisoners are housed in barracks at military prisons and receive food clothing and lodging. Warship crews and officers are kept in simple comfort with standard pay and privileges. Justice Department preparations for registration rules are near completion with no exemptions planned.
