Austin reports the state election board will start canvassing presidential electors today after law confusion delayed the process. Secretary of State C. D. Mims notes some counties have not yet returned results but the board will review those received and proceed with the 40 day timetable for state officers.
Oil in paying quantities found on W Rogers farm eight miles north of Groesbeck and west of Mexia. Oil reached over the top of the derrick this morning. The 3160 foot well shows great pools around the derrick for 100 yards. Leases are being bought and sold fast. A strong gas field lies 3 to 4 miles west of Groesbeck with more wells planned. Groesbeck swelled with visitors drawn by the discovery.

The Bry an and Brazos County Chamber of Commerce directors met Tuesday at 10 with President E J Jenkins and Secretary S E Eberstadt. They discussed entertainment for the Bryan high football state championship bid and discussed organizing a Cemetery Association at the Carnegie Library.
Superintendent W A Chisholm of the First Baptist Sunday school in Bryan resigns at 11 a m to become superintendent of the First Baptist church in Greenville. Greenville church serves about 1400 members and is a leading North Texas church with ties to Burleson College and prominent figures judge Wm Pierson and ex Attorney General B F Looney.
Final election returns show thirty members of Minnesota’s next house affiliated with the Nonpartisan League as the chamber of 121 members convenes in January. The league’s prior pledged strength was twenty eight.
