In London a House of Commons report says three German cruisers were sunk in the Pacific. British concern rises after yesterday Niger gunboat went down near anchored ships off the English coast. Paris reports no major battlefront changes in two days.
Nish Servia November 12 It is officially announced that six Austrian infantry battalions were annihilated near Szderevo when they crossed the Danube on November 9 under cover of artillery fire. All survivors were captured with 2,000 taken prisoner.
The French steamer Duchess de Diche was foundered in Havre harbor during a gale with eleven drowned. In Vienna cholera cases rose with twenty one new infections reported on Monday.
O E Gammill reports Bryan and College Interurban pole work delayed by rain but to resume next week. Large portion of material arrived and installation will speed up. A drawing from St Louis shows a larger seated car similar to current models. Shipments expected between December 1 and 15, with electric operation by January if weather stays favorable.
Merchants sponsor a voting contest granting a delighted lady or girl a sponsored trip. Votes accrue from purchases at participating stores and subscriptions to this paper. Eligible entrants are any woman of good character, with a chance to win a valued prize.

A Constantinople dispatch reports the Anglo French bombardment of the Dardanelles penetrating the cruiser Goeben at the water line and causing serious damage.
Constantinople reports the Turks completely defeated the Russians in a two days battle in the Caucasus, with Berlin noting the outcome on November 12.

The Attorney General ruling placing chicken feeds under pure feed rules expands duties for the State pure feed inspector’s department at A. and M. College. Three new inspectors J. M. Shadel James Sullivan and Maxie Wickes join eight man force except W. L. Boyett. They inspect feeds on the road to ensure compliance with state laws with arrests and prosecutions for violations. A new miller feed registration list is being compiled as old lists are outdated.
New Orleans marked the cotton exchange opening with festive ceremonies as January futures traded at 7.50 in a 17 minute clearance to Liverpool. Traders favored the Federal cotton futures act contracts with a quarter cent premium, while New York货 opened nervous with December at 7.45 sliding to 7.39 and October firming to 8.50.
Paris says former French finance minister Joseph Caillaux sails with Mme Caillaux to Brazil to study import options for raw materials and foodstuffs to replace Austrian and German imports. Caillaux, treasurer and general paymaster of the army, will focus on Brazilian clothes, porcelains, chemicals, medicines, machines, and tools.
London dispatch from Associated Press reports Field Marshal Earl Roberts died suddenly in France Saturday evening after a brief chill following a week of active service. He had traveled with his daughter Lady Aileen Roberts and Major Lewin, conferred with officers, and reviewed troops before falling ill at dinner. His passing drew nationwide grief and tributes from churches and camps.
Secretary McAdoo announces the twelve Fed eral reserve banks open as the system starts. In Dallas the Federal Reserve Bank of the Eleventh District begins operation with about one million dollars in gold on hand and 774 member banks. The bank covers Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas and aims to loan up to 25 million, aiding the Southwest cotton trade. Paul Warburg predicts stronger U S commerce and reduced foreign dependence through the new system.
Washington reports the United States will retain several million dollars in customs at Vera Cruz and not hand it to any faction until a stable government is established. Consul Silliman notes Gutierrez approved Carranza’s retirement terms, but Villa’s departure condition is unconfirmed.
Distribution of the bulletin on Money Crops in Place of Cotton began this morning with the first shipment arriving. George Simpson of this city and Mrs Glover Brown of College were married Sunday afternoon at Judge J T Maloney's home in Brazos County. The couple, well known locally, will reside in Calvert after a brief wedding trip.
Fred Standard receives a note dated October 23 from J. T. McKenzie a Canadian who helped on the well Standard sank for the city months ago. He writes from the steamship Rayburn carrying reserve forces and 900 horses to Europe and expects to reach Bordeaux France and be on the firing line once the letter arrives in America.
News from New York and Paris reports the British superdreadnought Audacious sunk off the North Irish coast on October 27 after a likely mine or torpedo strike. Over 800 crew were rescued by the steamer Olympic, whose proximity sparked its secretive movements. The ship sank after stern-first settling and a late explosion. Paris confirms German assaults near Ypres and Verdun faced Allied resistance with limited gains.
A M College announces the appointment of two 1914 graduates as assistants. A H Irby of Beaumont, B S in agriculture, will assist in veterinary science and later work on hog cholera serum production. O K Courtney of Pettus, B S in agriculture, joins entomology assisting Wilmon Newell.
Alonzo Carter of Fort Worth has purchased the Crow studio in Bryan, formerly the Smith studio. Carter will assume management Monday and remodel to a modern facility with the latest equipment. He will move his family to Bryan. Miss Booker will remain as operator.
Brazos County ginning statistics show that before November 1, 1914, 18 439 bales had been ginned. By the same date last year 24 512 bales were ginned, a decrease of 6 073 bales compared with the previous season.
A Turkish official report states Turkish forces seized all Russian blockhouses near Trebizond after a night push and pursued the Russians for about three hours.
German cruisers Leipsic and Dresden departed Valpairiso at daylight on November 14, the port authorities reported this morning.
Berlin reports official Turkish claim of destroying a Russian army corps at the Caucasus border. Fighting along the Suez Canal area reported, with four wagonloads of British wounded moved to Cairo. native troops mutinied and several prominent Egyptians were arrested.
Sunday school children in Calvert forgo Christmas trees and raise over 150 dollars for European orphans. They urge other towns to imitate the act and send donations to President Wilson, chairman of the American Red Cross Relief Committee. Mrs. J. M. Davis heads the Sunday School Association.
The Lachman Lewis street carnival toured Nava so ta after a Bryan stop under the city fire department. Weather kept attendance down, but the Bryan department still earned 186.50 for the week.
The First Baptist Church listed Rev. M. S. Weaver Rev. R. J. Brown Rev. Co. B. Bullock and Rev. J. J. Pipkin as delegates to the Texas Baptist Convention meeting in Abilene. Weaver Brown Bullock and Pipkin departed for the event with sessions running from tomorrow through Sunday.
