Louis Friar, a Black man, killed Willie Brown and Tom Allen in daylight in Victoria Texas. He then shot guard H C Gossman and Josiah Thomas but none died. Friar barricaded himself in the dead woman's house for over an hour as eight officers and volunteers fired about two hundred shots. He was mortally wounded and killed himself.
