The survey by L H Birkhead across eighty midwest towns finds country towns losing population or being outpaced by farmers. Co operative enterprises rise while churches die and leadership for youth is lacking. Tenant farming rises and roads and better homes are flagged as two main needs.

Local Residents Attend Rice A and M Football Game

Navasota visitors Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Tucker witnessed the Rice A. and M. football game and were guests of Mrs. L. H. Tucker. Judge W. C. Davis left for Robertson county to preside over district court. Several residents and officials visit Bryan for civic and church activities.

Shoe Polishing Machine Arrives in Bryan from Cleveland

The Automatic Shoe Polishing machine arrived in Bryan on Monday from Cleveland Ohio and was tested by J. L. Edge C. A. Harris and George Griffin. The second pattern improves on the first and bears the inscription of George T. Tunile Jr. Consulting engineer of Cleveland. It is installed at the Elite Confectionery for automatic shoe shining and will later tour Houston. A Bryan factory is being considered. stock is valued at 25 000 on the market with 20 000 in operating costs and a patent worth at least 250 000.

Tick infection in Brazos County rises after cattle movement

State Inspector Paul Swancoat reports increased tick inspection across Brazos County amid dipping disruptions. He links the rise to cattle moved from dip areas into fields where calves and horses previously grazed. Dipping will resume after the cold wave. Girl Is Champion Cotton Picker In Coke County

In Tabor on November 15, residents stayed indoors due to cold wet weather. The high school group gathered at College Thursday, and the Ladies Aid Society plans a Cottage Home meeting Wednesday at three o clock. Chickens donated for the Orphans Home exceeded the target. Ladies Aid Society Organized in Cottonwood Baptist Church

Mesdames Wiley McAlpine Minkert Fountain and Kennedy formed a Ladies Aid Society at Cottonwood Baptist Church in Tabor on Wednesday afternoon November 10. Rev Talley of Marlin spoke at Tabor High School Friday night and a short program followed. Mrs A M Tucker of Slaton Texas died, funeral planned in Amarillo. she was well known in Bryan.
