Bryan High will play Cameron Friday afternoon at 3 30 at Allen Field with manager Forrest Jones noting the game follows last week’s hard fought clash with Waco. Bryan exits that game in good shape with only minor injuries and ready for Cameron.
Corpus Christi was chosen as the permanent headquarters of the South Texas Chamber of Commerce and Laredo was picked as the 1928 convention city at the closing of a business session of the convention in Brownsville yesterday.
Snow and blizzards pummeled Lake Superior regions with deep snow across Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. The system moves east, turning to rain in the south but dragging much colder air over a wide area. Lake Superior shipping halts with little vessel movement since Monday night.
Ray Baumgardner of Dallas head of the Associated Press Southwest and W C Grant were in Bryan Tuesday afternoon. Rain and slick roads delayed them from reaching a Lions Club meeting and Baumgardner expressed regret at missing the local luncheon club gathering.

The Brazos County Teachers Institute will meet in Bryan at the local high school Saturday morning. Programs list music by Mrs. Carl T. Sprague devotional by Dr. Thos Gordon Watts reading by Miss Maurine Neeley and Albert Schulman teaching methods by Miss Ophelia Wilcox and R L Hewett enrollment topics by T S T A Pyrof Harry L. Durham and Dr E P Humboldt how to teach thrift led by Mrs. D J McDonald.
Two Bryan girls play major roles on the Kidd-Key College paper at Sherman. Elizabeth Brogdon, daughter of Mrs. R. L. Brogdon, serves as subscription manager while Pauline McCulloch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. McCulloch, works as humor editor for the Key Notes newspaper.
Former secretary of the treasury William Gibbs McAdoo was named a defendant in three auto damage suits filed in the District of Columbia supreme court. Plaintiffs seek about 45 000 dollars for damages from an accident near Edison West Virginia while McAdoo’s car allegedly traveled at 50 miles an hour. The plaintiffs are Charlotte Gale Bivens a 10 year old girl Lucy C Caffee and A E Bivens the girl's father all residents of Bluefield West Virginia.
The court of criminal appeals ruled that a governor's pardon does not erase guilt. In the Hunt county case of Raymond Sanders, he faced a five year term for a liquor conviction after a subsequent conviction, despite a prior full pardon by Gov. Miriam A. Ferguson.
Brazos County Farm Bureau Association met in the district courtroom Saturday at 2 PM with J. L. Stasney presiding. Members approved October minutes, discussed the Dallas state meeting and Texas Federated Agricultural Associations, and endorsed resolutions. Johnson Wakefield spoke on cooperation. Glen W. Stinnett assisted with reports. A nominating committee was formed to propose officers for the next year.
The Bryan Reading Club held a 16 member gathering with Miss Alice Burts guiding the day focused on Italy. Mrs J H Allen shared Venice impressions, Mrs E W Bullock narrated Rigoletto, two Victrola opera selections were played, Miss Katherine Hutton sang The Gypsy Love Song, Mrs G M Harris read Italy Reborn highlighting Mussolini era changes, and Dr G A Klingman praised Italian art and opera in a 15 minute talk.
Dr Finis L Anderson of Springfield Missouri told 2500 delegates at the Southern Medical Association convention in Memphis that there is no reason for illness and people should live to 100 or more He warned against poor diet calling intemperance a crime and noted Bryan fought whisky his whole life Mrs O M Marchman of Dallas was elected president of the association's women's auxiliary at the meeting

Earlsboro Oklahoma November 16 Flames fed by 200 barrels of crude oil an hour from the Twin States Oil Company Hearne No 1 well in the Earlsboro pool claimed the life of Dave Hudson farm boss. The blaze roared after an electrical short circuit ignited the light Hudson switched on. Property valued at 150000 was consumed.
County Agent C L Benson’s extension report for October lists 40 farms visited 65 phone calls 80 office calls 20 letters written 15 meetings with 1235 total attendance and 1120 miles traveled. Work focused on club activity fairs dairying poultry agronomy and miscellaneous tasks, marking one of the year's busiest months.
Signa Seaholm 21 former fiancée of William Todd executive of Good Housekeeping shot herself in Todd's Brooklyn apartment. Todd found door open with Seaholm bleeding from a breast wound when he entered. Police reported the incident.

Miss Mary Cole and her brother were trapped under the pilot of a Missouri Kansas and Texas locomotive after it demolished their automobile in Dallas. Rescue crews freed them after 15 minutes. Doctors expect both to recover.
San Marcos prepares a $100,000 federal hatchery to supply game fish for Central and Southwest Texas. The project, funded by a $6,000 current cost and a $25,000 ultimate total, expands capacity as O. N. Baldwin, veteran hatchery manager, leads enhancements. Site sits along the San Marcos river near the Austin highway opposite the State Teachers College.

Denver voters cast a record off year ballot naming Harrison White Democrat to Congress. White led Republican Francis Knauss by 4 700 votes per unofficial returns. Campus Study Club met in Y parlors with reports on Scandinavian literature and life of Elfen Key.
Fort Worth November 16 Yeggmen tried to loot the Continental State Bank of Crowley 14 miles south of Fort Worth. An acetylene torch exhausted while burning a hole in the vault. Cash about 1500 dollars. Cashier W S Horn alerted by a delivery man after plate glass window shattered. Tools left behind, said to be stolen from a Crowley merchant.
