Federation of County Clubs To Meet Saturday

The Brazos County Federation of Women's Clubs will gather Saturday at 2 30 PM in the Carne gie Library auditorium. Miss Mary Locke, newly elected president, announces the meeting with Home Demonstration Agent Miss Abbie Sevier. A three person program committee will present, and a prize drawing from local merchants is planned.

The Grand Jury returned indictments on 24 felony cases and 5 misdemeanor cases to the district court. The remainder of the report covered routine matters.

Baptist Quarterly Conference Opens at Bright Light Church

The Brazos County Free Baptist Quarterly conference opened its sessions last night at Bright Light Free Baptist church in Harvey with all area churches represented. Rev. J. W. Handy presiding and Clyde Goen secretary. Attendees from Bryan include several pastors and lay members. Rev. Newsom and his children from Fort Worth attended.

Steep Hollow residents report weekend gatherings and visits. Mr. and Mrs Charles Murray and family of Bryan spent Sunday with Arnold Murray’s family. Rev. J W Handy and family attended the Bright Light association. Mrs W E Moore returned from a Dallas Corsicana visit. Mattye Moore visits her sister in Dallas. Roy Foster and family and Jim Pyles and family visited Enoch Hopkins in Pleasant Grove. Claude Thompson visited Floyd Todd’s Harvey home. The Barnetts and Lizzie Barnett joined visits to Harvey and Chas Jones.

Big Meeting Planned at Tabor Friday Night

On next Friday night at the Tabor school auditorium a joint meeting of the Tabor Welfare Club and the Boys' and Girls' Agricultural Club will be held. Rev. R. L. Brown will deliver an address on Community ideas Ideals Community Spirit and Community Standards. The program starts about 8:00.

Visit of Rev and Mrs Fish to Bryan Children

Rev and Mrs W A Fish of Benton Illinois arrived in Bryan for a visit with their daughter Mrs T H Fish who lives in the Edge apartments. They have spent the winter in San Diego and are en route to Illinois. They will leave Saturday accompanied home by their daughter Mrs Fish and son Hamilton Jr.

Adams reports heavy east Texas rains reach Nacogdoches

Bible Class Plans First All Day Meeting Saturday May Twenty Three

Joe White described as insane in a Bryan sanity court was moved by Sheriff Jess Conlee to the state insane asylum in Austin for temporary lodgment. The transfer occurred Friday, with White previously placed with his family near Millican.
