2 500 Barrel Oil Well Develops in Mexia Field
In Mexia Texas on May 10 the Henry well of the Humphreys Mexia and Humphreys Texas Companies is producing 1 500 to 2 500 barrels daily from the Woodbine sand after reaching 3 012 feet. The well flows 25 to 40 barrels per hour, drilled into the sand eighty feet, with casing at 2 982 feet. It is the fifth producing well in the Mexia field near Mexia town. Other wells including Moluge Liles and Blake Smith are flowing, and Berthelson is being completed. Officials hope the Kennedy well may improve with standard tools. The Henry well has drawn significant attention since its Saturday drill.

A Monday afternoon wind storm at A and M College destroyed a 9000 square foot temporary farm machinery building valued at about 15 000 dollars and caused 25 000 dollars in building losses with 500 dollars in machinery damage.
