Rock Springs Wyoming May 5 Walter Bunting mail service aviator burned to death when his plane overturned on takeoff for a flight to Cheyenne with the U S rail. Mrs E J Palm en route from Anderson to Austin has been the guest of Mrs Ralph Howell for the past few days. Great Day for the Brazos County Singing Convention
The Brazos County Singing Convention met at Alexander church for its semi annual gathering inviting by Tabor community. Edgar A. Peters presided with Barlin Risinger and Louis Thompson as officers. About 500 to 600 people attended the day of song and fellowship with a lengthy noon meal and prayers. The convention, tracing back to Unity Musical Convention, will now meet twice yearly on the first Sundays of May and October, with Steen Hollow hosting in October.

Colonel James G. Harrison, longtime Dallas resident and Confederate veteran, died Thursday night at his son Jerome Harrison's home in Philadelphia. He will be buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco Tuesday at 10 after services at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Survived by wife Sarah Maxwell Harrison and son Jerome. Pallbearers listed.

Boriskie Acquitted in Tick Eradication Case
In Justice J. W. Hamilton's court V. Boriskie was found not guilty of failing to dip cattle under the tick eradication law. The acquittal followed questions on whether Boriskie received official notice to dip. The state was represented by County Attorney J. G. Minkert with defense by Judge Lamar Bethea. Hamilton has about eight more tick law cases scheduled for Friday.
