February Court Term Extended By Judge Davis
The February term of district court was extended by Judge W C Davis to sentence Irvin Blackie Thompson to 99 years for the Caldwell jewelry store robbery of December 14. Thompson awaits sentencing at Huntsville after trial in Marlin for a separate $41,000 First State Bank robbery. Whitey Walker and Roy Johnson received 99 year terms and are imprisoned at Huntsville. Two Year Sentence For Woman In Beating Of Husband
Mrs Texia Hudson 45 of Austin pleaded guilty to assault to murder in the Hempstead beating of her estranged husband D G Hudson a grocer last November and received a two year sentence. Oakley 21 of Nederland college student and roomer at Hudsons home had charges reduced to aggravated assault and will plead guilty with a $50 fine. He testified Mrs Hudson urged him to come to Hempstead and kill Hudson while the sheriff said she admitted wanting the husband killed and hoped to seize insurance and property income. Hudson wished neither party imprisoned.
