Pastor Viv ian of First Methodist in College Station urged stronger roads and direct contact between city and rural Brazos County communities. He urged residents to attend community club meetings, mingle on rural ground, and support pie socials and box suppers to fund worthy causes, warning against procrastination and inaction.
The Trinity Brazos and Colorado rivers in Texas are named in a preliminary flood control survey urged by the House flood control committee in Washington. Officials say the funds are modest but sufficient while state and federal geologic survey work begins.

D Palasotto, longtime Brazos county farmer born in Poggioreale Italy in 1838, died at his Steele's Store farm at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Survived by brother P Palasotto of Marlin and sister Miss Josephine Palasotto, along with two nieces. Funeral held in Bryan at St Anthony's Catholic Church with interment in Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers listed.
A surprise birthday dinner was held Sunday at the Dowling home on West 26th Street marking B O Dowling’s twenty four years. Close friends E B Holland Parker Carroll J E Reed and others attended with Willie Dowling and Ross Williams among those listed.
L H Baird of Kurten seeks Brazos County Precinct 2 commissioner with a promise of fair impartial conduct. Born in Bowie County he has lived in Brazos 39 years including 14 in Kurten and plans to visit voters before the July primary.
Steep Hollow 4 H club the Steep Hollow Smiles planned a pie social at the school but it has been called off six times due to rain and bad roads. Bryan Eagle reporter H D Cuykendall attended Saturday night but no crowd gathered. travel was blocked by conditions and the county agent was ill.
Mar 24 report notes the No. 2 Cuthrell test well spudded on the Cuthrell lease near Carlos in the Navasota district. It joins three other wells drilling nearby. The first test found an oil and gas sand at about 2800 feet and blew in as a gasser, later choking. the original string of tools was lost.
Emmett Holland announces candidacy for District No 2 road commissioner in Edge Texas. He says the upper district deserves representation after years without a commissioner and pledges fair treatment, diligent county service, and no neglect of any part of the district.
