Winds toppled trees across Bryan with stronger gusts in residential areas. Mrs R A Gustavus and daughter Frances of Ballinger are visiting Bryan friends.
Cloud burst near Sanderson washed out Southern Pacific tracks and tied up three passenger trains at Del Rio. Officials said one day would be required to repair the damage and move the trains.
Elizabeth Vernon of Waco has been appointed secretary to President L. H. Hubbard. She replaces Miss Mary Caroline Holmes of Houston who returned home. Vernon is a Belton High School graduate and former Baylor College student.
A blaze in Boston today at the William Shearer residence killed four people Janet Shearer 19 Bettie Howes 16 Alice Scott 32 house maid and Helen McLaughlin cook. The fire started in the basement from an electric iron.
Mrs Ruth Yett of Austin and Ouida Ferguson Nalle daughter of former Governor Ferguson settled out of court a $1000 claim over insurance and bonding commissions earned during their partnership with Mrs Ferguson in Austin during her term.

The highway commission approved paying 11183 dollars to K S Hull Jr of Temple for the Belton underpass project on the Temple Belton invisible highway. Austin County may use 150000 dollars of its funds to grade and construct drainage structures on sixteen miles of highway 73A from Mill Creek to the Brazos River while Montgomery County may use 45000 dollars for six point three miles of highway 19 from Willis to the Walker county line.

Z. E. Marvin Jr. son of the former Texas Ku Klux Klan grand dragon faces federal counts of possession and sale of whiskey in Dallas. Three Marvin store clerks are charged with liquor law violations in the same case.

Austin June 22 The Court of Criminal Appeals struck down the affidavit clause of the search and seizure act which allowed officers to search private premises on affidavits of two responsible persons not officers.
