W. W. Lewis Claimed By Death in Bryan Texas
Sudden death of plumber W. W. Lewis occurred at 2:30 a m in his rooms at the Howell building corner Main and 27th street. Acute indigestion listed as cause. Born June 22, 1859 in Newport Tennessee, he lived in Gainesville Texas and Bryan Texas. Survived by one brother Do A Lewis and one nephew W E Lewis in Bryan plus four brothers and one sister. Remains shipped to Gainesville for interment beside his wife.

Grandmother Is Sent To Prison Liquor Charge
Two women in a convoy to the state penitentiary for liquor law violations. Mrs Elizabeth Kretschman 55 and Mrs Estelle Walling 40 convicted in Palo Pinto county face one year and one to two years respectively. Officers reported beer and whisky found at homes. Other prisoners were moved under Penitentiary Agents Bud Russell and Bob Cloud.

Splendid Cotton Grown On R L Jones Farm Steep Hollow
Three fine cotton stalks from R L Jones farm in Steep Hollow were shown to the Eagle office. They bore squares blooms and buds with one stalk totaling 238 fibers and another 12, both well above average quality. A half grown boll on the third stalk signals strong growth on sandy soil. Jones owns about 200 acres of cotton and much of it is as good as the samples.
