Bryan City Commission Plans Sewer, Yards Move and Street Openings
At a regular Bryan City Commission meeting the manager was instructed to pursue storm sewer construction on H and T C property between 25th and 28th streets and to address relocation of the H and T C stock yards outside city limits. Officials also discussed opening Elgin Street from College Avenue to Fin-Feather road and approved a memorial park resolution for Sue Haswell. The building code was amended to reduce the key rate by two cents pending state fire insurance commission review of water system extensions. The city sought state approval before expenditures, hoping to drop the key rate to about 32 cents. An electricians bond requirement of 1000 dollars was added. five-limits ordinance was finalized, and water meters were contracted to Hersey Manufacturing. Carrier mail service extension with the Post Office was authorized, with another carrier expected by month’s end.
