College Buildings Named by Board

At the Agricultural and Mechanical College board meeting in Austin the Abilene project dominated discussion as no grounds plans could proceed until mountain water supply is secured. Bids for a new $100 000 building were rejected as too high and the structure was named Bizzel hall after President W B Bizzel. The veterinary building underway was named Francis hall in honor of Dr Mark Francis. The two year budget of about $400 000 yearly was approved and the next meeting set for the college within thirty days.

Waters Pierce Back in Texas Ouster Case

An application was filed in the Twenty sixth district court to reform the judgment in the Texas ouster suit against Waters Pierce Oil Co to allow a transfer of the defunct company’s property to a new foreign firm. The Pierce Oil Corp of Virginia, with Richmond headquarters, seeks permission to operate in Texas under a law allowing transfer to an independently owned foreign successor after anti trust-violating ouster.
