Aviators Praise Bryan Visit and Hospitality

Lieutenant McMennemy of Ellington field thanked Secretary Eberstadt and Bryan citizens for their hospitality to visiting aviators. He praised the city and landing station, noted no marker need be placed, and said no aircraft would be up Sunday through Wednesday due to his upcoming wedding. He promised a future honeymoon visit with his bride.

Baptist Ladies Conclude Session in Hearne Meeting

The Baptist Women’s Auxiliary afternoon session opened at 1 30 led by President Mrs George Adams. Dallas secretary Mrs A F Beddo spoke on the group’s Texas work while Mrs J W Byars urged child training and religious readiness for future wars. New officers elected were recording secretary Mrs Finch Gary Bremond and corresponding secretary treasurer Mrs H L McKnight Hearne was chosen as next meeting site with visitors from Hearne Steep Hollow and other towns.

Mark Watson dies of pneumonia at Bryan Baptist academy

Mark Watson a student at Bryan Baptist academy died in the boys dormitory at 7 35 this morning after a weeklong illness with pneumonia He was 19 son of Rev and Mrs Isaiah Watson of Bryan and had lived there since childhood He was member of the Baptist church and left a large circle of friends Survived by parents and several brothers and sisters with one brother in the navy and a sister in West Texas The community expresses deep sympathy.

Obituary of Dr. Thomas L. Todd Pioneer Texas Doctor

Brazos county mourns Dr. Thomas Londsey Todd who died January 19 at his Runnels county home. Born February 10, 1859 in Lowndes county Alabama, he moved to Texas in 1869 and spent most of his life in Brazos. Survived by wife, children, three sisters and two brothers, he was known as a loyal, stainless man who gave selflessly to patients and community.
