Fritz Schultz Jr Buried in Kurten Funeral at Home

Funeral services for Fritz Schultz Jr aged 11 were held at the Schultz home in Kurten with Rev J J Kasiskie officiating. He died Sunday morning after treatment in Marlin and burial followed in Kurten cemetery. J J Vandiver of Steep Hollow reported muddy roads in Bryan today.

Negroes From Mooring Farm Returned Home

Ed Harris, owner of a large plantation near Abilene, brought back about thirty enslaved workers to the Seth Mooring plantation in the Brazos Bottom at Steele's Store. Harris had previously taken them to Fisher County to pick cotton, and County Agent C. L. Benson vouched for the crop and feed farm. Harris also noted abundant feed to last into next year and was visiting relatives in Bryan, including W. L. Powers.

District Court Opens February Eighth in Brazos County

The Brazos County district court will open Monday morning February 8 with Judge W C Davis presiding. County Attorney Oak McKenzie notes a busy session ahead, including the Felker case about a large shortage in Experiment Station books at A and M College, numerous liquor cases, few murders, about eight to ten misdemeanors, and the usual divorce docket.
