Pioneer Texan Dies Well Known Here

Mrs. Josie Lawrence received a telegram from Dawson announcing the death of her aunt Mrs. M. O. Lawrence at 2 30 am. Born in 1831 in Giles County Tennessee she came to Texas in 1835 settling in Robertson county then Navarre county. At 93 she lived on the same ranch for 68 years and witnessed six flags over Texas.

Aged Negro Killed at Work on Newsom Plantation

Bob Kilpatrick a well digger in the Brazos bottom was killed instantly at the Newsom plantation when the dirt load in a barrel fell as the draw rope broke, crushing him at the top of a well where he worked.

Brazos Union Lodge No. 129 led by J W Hall invites all Master Masons in Brazos County to a Monday February 28 gathering at 7 30 p m in the Masonic Temple Bryan.
