Funeral Service Continued for Lallatte in Bryan

Dr W H Andrew led the funeral service at First Baptist Church for Lallatte a Bryan resident aged 61 years 1 month 27 days. Interment followed in Bryan City Cemetery with McCulloch Dansby handling arrangements. Lallatte a Missouri Pacific employee for over two decades belonged to the Brotherhood of Railway Firemen and was married to Edna Boyett Knox residing on South College Avenue. Work of Relief Thru Red Cross Reported Today

The January meeting of the Brazos County Red Cross executive committee showed relief efforts aiding many families. Records reveal 432 sweaters, 22 secondhand garments, 7 dozen lumberjack shirts, 336 sacks of flour, medical attention, and drug bill assistance. Bryan bakeries donated bread. gratitude was given for clothing and shoe donations from Bryan and College Station. Secretary sent ten First Certificate applications to National Red Cross HQ for members who completed First Aid training.

Bethea Dominates 1899 Texas University Field Day

The 1899 University of Texas field day featured Lamar Bethea scoring 24 points with firsts in the 100 and 220 yard dashes and the quarter mile, plus a second in the 120 yard hurdles. The may day event celebrated the best field athletics at UT. A baseball team financial report showed receipts of 447.15 dollars, with 20 dollars more expected from season tickets, totaling 467.15, while expenditures reached 448.15 including 50 cents for team car fare.

E. Stanford secretary of Bryan and Brazos County Chamber of Commerce will travel to Kilgore Tuesday to deliver the main address at the Kilgore Chamber annual banquet that night.
