Local and Personal Christmas Travel and Visits

A long list of residents and visitors in Bryan and surrounding areas prepare for Christmas holidays. Families and friends travel from Port Arthur to Bryan, Denton to Steep Hollow, and from Austin and Houston to join relatives. The Northbound H T C carries students home from Prairie View Normal, while locals plan gatherings and exchanges of Christmas greetings and gifts.

Christmas Holiday Guests Fill Bryan City

The city welcomed numerous visitors and locals spending Christmas with relatives. Notables include Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Mayor Ed Overholzer ordered the release of 42 prisoners from the city jail or serving sentences on county roads. Police report some released men have prior criminal records and pose danger. The Court of Appeals ruled municipal courts violating the constitution are abolished for cities over 25,000.

Aged man J Curtis Run Down by Automobile Near Court House

Mr J Curtis father of IH Gibson of this city was struck by a car owned by B C Weston and driven by his daughter. The vehicle wheel rested on his body, leaving a deep facial cut and minor injuries. He was treated and moved to his son in law's home.
