Annual Christmas Seal Sale Opens In Brazos County
The Brazos County Health Board announces the annual Christmas seal sale opened Friday with 60 percent of local proceeds funding county health projects. Nationwide, the drive is supported by the National Tuberculosis Association and Texas Tuberculosis Association. The cross symbol has roots in early Christianity and was adopted by the tuberculosis movement in 1906.

CWA Resumes Factory Canning and City Projects in Bryan
Civil Works Administration resumes work in Bryan with a new canning factory to open this week at 20 beeves per 24 hours. About 200 workers will be employed in 6 hour shifts at 40 cents an hour, with most of the 420 approved relief workers expected to find employment and a weekly payroll near $5,000.

Farm Slaying Near Hutto Under Investigation
Edwin Lawhon aged 35 was slain on a farm near Hutto. Sheriff's officials and the district attorney investigated at Taylor. Lawhon’s funeral was held in Taylor. J. W. Moody aged 65, his father in law, is charged with murder and released on $1000 bond. Moody’s arrest follows the fatal incident.

A radiogram from G C Hutchesson of Denton now with the Byrd Antarctic expedition came to College Station. Hutcheson, a former A and M cadet corps major and Methodist cabinet president, was offered a radio position after Byrd was impressed by his record and recommendations. He sent a warm note asking to hear from friends and mentioning a long voyage across the Pacific toward ice via Wellington.
