Hoyle and Bertram Earn Hole in One at Bryan Country Club
On August 27 at Bryan Country Club Major E. H. Bertram and Sam C. Hoyle achieved the first two holes in one on the club course. Bertram nailed a 135 yard fourth hole mashie shot with perfect line and backspin into the cup. Hoyle followed two hours later with a 125 yard par 3 at number four, using a mashie and a Colon el Click ball, the ball rolling into the hole for another ace. Both men, long-time players, received congratulations from friends and maintain humble attitudes about the feat.

John Carrabbo Buried in Bryan Funeral Rites Held
John Carrabbo aged 76 died at his Bryan home after a long illness. He was born in Italy in 1852 and came to the United States in 1883. He lived in Brazos County 34 years. Funeral services were held at his residence and St. Anthony's Church with interment in the Catholic cemetery. Survived by his widow, three sons and six daughters, including Joe and Sam Carabbo of Bryan and Tony Carstabbo of Dallas. Pallbearers named.
