Burial of Mark Phillips at Millican After Waco Death
Mark Phillips was killed in Waco Friday morning and buried Sunday at Millican, home of his wife. The funeral, led by Rev. Massey of Navasota, drew a large crowd. He was described as exemplary, sober, honest, and capable. Phillips had worked in Navasota, then for Cole Hardware and Waco Ice. He died after being crushed between cars. His wife, a Millican resident, and his parents in McLennan County attended the service. He was about 32 or 33 and childless.

Death of Prof Hayden's Father in Wilkes Barre
The Rev Horace Edwin Hayden aged about 85 died August 22 at his home in Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania. Born 1837 in Catonsville Maryland he served four years in the Confederate army and was ordained in 1868. He long served St Stephen's parish and for 25 years was librarian and secretary for the Wyoming Valley Historical and Geographical Society. He is survived by his wife Miss Kate Byers of Hancock Maryland and by son Horace Edwin Hayden Jr of College Station Texas.

Mrs Ellen Withers died last evening at 3 35 pm and will be buried from First Baptist Church with Dr M E Weaver officiating. Born Ellen Deckman in Halifax Nova Scotia on November 10 1832 she traveled with her brother A M Deckman to Texas in 1832 and after moving across the state married W B Withers in 1854.
