Minstrel Show Preparations At Colonia For Red Cross

Judge John I. Fire destroys Abe Chenowsky junk house and stock

A Sunday morning blaze at Abe Chenowsky’s junk house destroyed the building and about $2000 of rags and rubber. Chenowsky had no insurance, while owner C. G. Parsons carried $1000. The cause is disputed with Chenowsky calling it incendiary and Fire Chief Jenkins favoring spontaneous combustion.

Ellington Field Minstrel Company to Perform Monday

Thirty Young Men Register Here and Inductions Noted

Thirty of age men registered with the local exemption board on Saturday. Two soldiers were sent to Camp Travis for other boards. Arrests of two technical deserters Will Garrett in Kansas City and Sam Johnson in Chisholm were reported. both will be inducted into the army. Jesse Ellis registered in Waxahachie and was inducted from here. Robert J. Dowling transferred from Las Vegas New Mexico to Camp Travis.

A 3:39 p m passenger train struck the rear of Charlie Nigliaggo’s car at Twenty seventh and Burleson. Mrs Nigliaggo suffered a slight leg injury and was taken to Mrs Nick Lobello’s home. The car’s rear end and tire were damaged.
