In Bells Texas engineer B T Hart was accidentally killed when a wrench slipped while tightening machinery and his head struck a wooden beam. His body was shipped to Shelbyville Tennessee. In Sherman the civil district court granted receivership for the Sherman Oil and Cotton company plant with C A Andrews of Sherman and R L Heflin named as receivers.

German widow killed by second pipe burst in Sour Lake

In Sour Lake Texas on October 16 a fatal air pipe explosion near the Spindletop Power plant claimed the life of Mrs Neabaugh a German woman who had moved with her husband and children from near Marlin Texas to the town just days earlier.

Appointed storekeeper at El Paso warehouse names Nolds

El Paso October 16 report says E. E. Nolds formerly a bond clerk in the customs collector's office was named storekeeper of the government bonded warehouse at the smelter to replace John Fulkerson who resigned. Gordon Roberts was appointed bond clerk as mounted inspector.

Reinhardt Hilderbrandt freed on $3000 bail in fatal Shaw's Bend shooting

Columbus Tex October 16 Reinhardt Hilderbrandt who has been jailed since Sunday morning on a charge of killing William Wink at Shaw's Bend ten miles above Columbus was admitted to bail of three thousand dollars without molestation.
