Tornado Leaves Snyder Ravaged With Heavy Losses

A Snyder Oklahoma tornado on May 12 killed over 95 people with at least 150 injured and fears of higher totals. Affected town of 1000 saw most buildings wrecked, hospitals filled, and relief trains dispatched from Guthrie Hobart Mangum and Lawton. Losses estimated at 350000 to 400000 dollars as two thirds of structures collapsed.

Snyder Oklahoma reports 95 dead up to Friday noon with 35 more missing. 115 seriously injured including 25 believed fatally hurt. 25 to 30 slightly hurt. Estimated financial loss $500,000. Country losses include 25 killed outside Snyder, total possibly 120 dead. Communication remained cut since Wednesday night.
