Fire swept the Pike building and adjoining structures in downtown Cincinnati, destroying the Grand Opera House complex and Pike Theatre with offices, restaurants, and a large publishing area. Widespread damage affected Seasongood and nearby properties, with over 400 claimed losses and an estimated total above three million dollars.
