Reports from Lodz Feb 11 describe a clash between troops and strikers at Louis Geyer’s factory where soldiers fired into streets after being targeted from windows. Casualty figures vary with one report citing one dead four wounded and others claiming up to twenty killed and twenty one wounded.
In a Pecos Valley item from February 11, John L. Sullivan challenged James J. Corbett for a match. Cott replied with a sharp taunt wishing faith and youth for the challenger and expressing concern for the poor old fellow.
A mob at the Katherine works in Sosnovice attacked electrical workers and faced firing from soldiers after a Polish officer ordered dispersal. Twenty eight people died and thirty six were wounded, with five more later dying in hospital. dynamite theft reported at Cassimir mines amid unrest.

Fort Worth Feb 11 The County Judges and Commissioners association selects Mineral Wells for the next gathering. The Terrell election law is discussed in depth. Officers elected include President Judge Bradley Fannin County Vice President John McClure Cooke County Secretary F T Woodward Dallas County. Several resolutions pass proposing a 10 cent per $100 jury fund tax and increased lunatic asylum accommodations.
The Central Mexican conference of the Methodist Episcopal church south meets in Capital City with Bishop Chandler presiding. Visitors include Rev. Dr. Rankin of Dallas Rev. Wilkinson of New Orleans and W C Everett of the Southern Methodist Publishing House as many missionaries attend.
In the San Luis Potosi division between Nameros and Laventura the National Railway of Mexico collision left three known dead with reports later listing five. Train No 4, traveling about 35 mph, rammed a northbound freight that had pulled into a siding to let the passenger train pass, telescoping a second car used for second and third class passengers.
In San Antonio on February 11 Miss Clara Driscoll paid the first note installment for the Alamo property purchase by the Daughters of the Republic. The $13,000 payment included $3,000 interest, leaving four $10,000 notes to be settled by state funds. The payment was made to Charles Hugo, owner of the property. The initial payment totaled $25,000.
August Black of near Cameron Texas ruptured a blood vessel and died. W H Parker was held up by two men in Texarkana and robbed of 4 50. Arizona legislature thanks senate for removing territory from statehood bill. Coleman Texas to host carnival and street fair starting February 20 lasting a week. Roberto Diaz was crushed to death between cars near Eagle Pass Texas. Little daughter of W J Shelton fell under a train at Hearne Texas and both limbs were severed. George Cook of Temple Texas fined 650 dollars and jailed thirty days for local oation violation.
A. L. Walters of Columbia Louisiana reports losing 4500 dollars from the sale proceeds of his business en route to El Paso. In Shreveport police have arrested two suspects as they assist in recovering the cash. Walters has enlisted police aid.
Oklahoma City police identify the dead man as J. A. Jones formerly with Swift Packing in Oklahoma City and Kansas City He arrived a few days ago from Texas.

It lists properties for sale including brick buildings on Main Street, ten acres near the railroad, 600 acres north of Bryan, and multiple farms in Brazos County. Also promotes insurance for fire, life, and accident with emphasis on cost and safety.
Louis A Bacon age twenty six died from appendicitis. He was a member of the association of soldiers who served in the United States army in the war with Spain and won distinction in the Cuba campaign.
El Paso February 11. George Ade, noted humorist and comic opera author, arrived from Mexico where he has been gathering material for a forthcoming comic Opéra.
Lawton Oklahoma February 11 H E Dahl travels to Tampico Mexico with crew to survey 23 000 acres recently purchased by the International Land company, a venture backed largely by Lawton residents.
Roswell New Mexico February 11 Judge Frank Houston Lea aged sixty five United States commissioner and longtime Pecos valley resident died after weeks of illness. He came to Roswell in 1881 and helped build an early home. He was the brother of the late Captain Lea Roswell’s first mayor.
Dr. A. A. Johnson a pioneer Dallas physician has died. The Indian Territory Press association plans a Sulphur meeting on May 19 and 20.
