Bryan voters face decision on $6000 school bond plan

The Bryan city election next Tuesday asks property taxpayers to approve a bond issue to build a west-side public school for about 300 pupils. The school board argues overcrowding, unsafe conditions, and poor facilities justify the plan with no tax-rate increase due to the existing 25 cent levy.

Lower Texas House Passes Divorce Ground Restrictions

The Texas lower house approved a Senate bill requiring divorce litigants to remain single for three years for the plaintiff and one year for the defendant. The chamber also advanced depository and railroad ticket sale measures, and passed a ban on free railroad passes and a cold storage bill.

Bank indictments filed into two brothers over false entries

On evidence by National Bank Inspector Logan and the controller of the currency two indictments were found against each of the above brothers. They are charged with false entries on the books of the bank and falsifying reports to the treasury department.

Postoffice Dynamited at Letot Robbing Safe

The Letot post office twelve miles northwest of Dallas was dynamited by unknown persons. The safe was robbed of 190 dollars, nearly all of it cash belonging to post master T. K. Marks, who runs a general store. The building was set on fire and destroyed.
