Shocking violence at Hempstead last night left Congressman John M. Pinckney and three others dead at a Waller County Prohibition league meeting. Injured included R. E. Tompkins and Roland Brown. Houston Light Guards dispatched. cause and assailant details unavailable.

James Thomason, 40, a former Fort Worth detective well known in Texas, drowned Monday morning at Russian Park two miles southwest of Fort Worth. He was fishing in the swollen Trinity River when his boat was swept over the dam during heavy rainfall.

In Montgomery Alabama on Sunday T Sheets aged forty killed his son Claude Sheets a foreman of a labor gang. The elder man had been discharged and blamed the son. After a clash the boy went home fearful and was shot dead in the yard by his father.
In a large theatre in Thsis the electric lamps went out and thousands of revolutionary proclamations rained down on the crowd as they cried Down with autocracy. In Memphis John Helton shot and killed his uncle Albert Lee over a dispute about Lee’s wife.
