Texas Governor Announces Broad State Appointment List
Governor Ales Colquitt named numerous appointees including board of regents members for the Agricultural and Mechanical College, Industrial Arts College, and state health and livestock authorities. Additional posts include superintendent for the epileptic colony at Abilene, game and oyster commissions, water and depots officials, and quarantine and health leaders. Buckner and Steiner disputably were not applicants, with confusion over their election statuses.
