Roosevelt Receives Warm Cincinnati Welcome During Visit

President Roosevelt arrived in Cincinnati at 10 o clock and was met by a large Republican delegation. He spoke at Music Hall twice and attended a St. Nicholas banquet, with a parade and Fall Festival activities across the day. About 400 plates were served at the banquet with many officials present.

Central of Georgia passenger freight mix No. 20 derailed 3 miles south of Euhaville at 6 30 pm due to a broken flange on a coal car wheel. Burglar Negro in Desperate Home Invasion Case

Ben McClendon a well known local worker was seen on Monk street in a state of undress after a burglary at Capt. Carreras residence on Amherst and George streets. Carreras said McClendon entered through a window thirteen feet high and fled after being confronted. McClendon claimed intoxication and memory loss of the incident.

Brunswick Negroes in Stampede at Birmingham Tragedy

A group of Brunswick negroes attending the National Baptist convention in Birmingham were caught in a fatal stampede that left 78 dead and 80 injured. Chaos erupted after a misinterpreted alarm as a call of fire. The final casualty list remains unreconciled, and it is not known if any Brunswick attendees were among the dead or injured.
