Lynched man's body found in lime sink near Cordele

September 12. Ben Mobley, accused of assaulting a girl in Dooly county last Friday, was mobbed and lynched on Saturday night. His body was found the next day in a lime sink on J. F. Collins farm, three miles southeast of Cordele by Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Murphy. An inquest by a coroner and jury found death at hands of unknown persons.
