James J. Hill railroad builder and Northwest titan died at his Summit avenue home in St. Paul at 9 30 am following a bowel illness. Attending were Dr. Herman M Biggs and Dr. Stanley Seager with Hill family members present. Hill, born 1838 in Ontario, rose from a lad who helped a tired horse to a dominant figure who built rail and steamship networks across six states and linked Buffalo to Asia.
