St Simon Folk to Have Hearing Over Deer Hunt

Last December Philip Boreezhimer millionaire owner of the iFagle Pencil company hosted deer hunting on Little St Simon island. About twenty residents were indicted by Glynn county grand jury for violating state game law by killing deer out of season. Lord Maeimer will resist prosecution with Judge Krauss representing him and Solicitor Sellers for the state.

Representative Daniel W. Comstock of Indiana dies in Washington from pneumonia at age 77. He was one of the last Civil War veterans in the U S House.

Glynn Sails for European Port After Successful Transatlantic Run

The Brunswick built schooner Glynn captained by Smpke and owned by James A. Brailey sailed April 1 with a cargo valued at $200,000 destined for the Y arvan Rosin and Turpentine company. A European port alerted the vessel arrived in good shape and the crew of eight Brunswick men reported a pleasant voyage. The Glynn faces the Mediterranean to reach its near destination within two to three weeks.

The United States Shipping Board has decided to build both wooden and steel ships. Plans and specifications for a large fleet of wooden ships of 3000 to 3500 tons, to aid the war effort, will be completed soon. Major General George W. Postoffice Lobby To Close At Night For Mail Box Deposit

The post office lobby doors will be closed from 11 p m to 3 30 a m after Treasury Department orders. A large mailbox will be installed in front of the building to allow patrons to deposit mail during closed hours. Postmaster Leavy approved the requisition for the mailbox to serve customers after hours.

British mission visits Richmond for Confederate landmark tour

Foreign Secretary Balfour and party toured Richmond on a one day visit welcomed by Governor Stuart and Virginia citizens. Marines To Fight In France With Pershing Expedition

A Marine regiment of 2,600 men led by Col A Dogan will accompany the first division to France under General Pershing. The unit will be armed and organized like army regiments, with homeward-bound residents from the tropics to follow. Shells Placed on Missing Link Between Brunswick and Darien

The county convict gang completed shelling and crushing shells on the Brunswick to Darien Ferry road, fixing a long missing link. The 0.75 mile stretch was leveled and prepared to receive shells, making the Brunswick road one of the best in the region. Many bushels of shells were purchased and placed along the twelve mile route, with plans to repair the entire distance.
