The jury in Marian P. Brookman v J A Cason awarded a permanent injunction and 120 dollars in damages after a two day Superior Court trial in Glynn County. The administratrix of the Henry D. Brookman estate had sought to stop timber cutting on a 500 acre tract. Judge Krauss presided with Judge Highsmith earlier in the docket. Junk Dealer Fined Twice for No License in Brunswick
A. Benovitch, a local junk dealer, was fined 100 dollars in police court for operating without a license. It was his second offense after an earlier 75 dollar fine. Americans Rescued From Mexican Raiders Near Glenn Springs
United States soldiers freed Jesse Deemer the American storekeeper seized during the Glenn Springs raid. A companion captive, Munroe Payne, was recovered as the force entered a Mexican village about 125 miles from the border. The two Americans were to be transported back to Texas. Col Frederick W. James Bailey, a 35 year old longshoreman at Mallory docks, died Tuesday night likely of heart trouble. He lived with Alex Hardison at 1109 Albany Street and was preparing to return to work on the Rio Grande cargo. The body was sent to Darien for burial after being readied by the local undertaker.
