Hyde found guilty of first degree murder in Swope case

Dr. B Hyde was found guilty of murdering Col Thomas H Swope by poison in a nationwide trial that drew wide attention. He received a life sentence with the judge declaring imprisonment for his natural life. Mrs Hyde expressed emotion as the verdict was read.

Roosevelt 19 Now in London

Theodore Roosevelt, special American ambassador to King Edward VII's funeral, arrived in London quietly at Marlborough House. He was greeted by King George and, with Mrs. Roosevelt and embassy entourage, viewed the late king's body at Buckingham Palace in state. Crowds remained reserved, with hats tipped as he entered.

Elks Head to Macon for State Convention
