Brunswick Edges Toward Citywide Surface Drainage Plan

Assistant Engineer J D Kops of Savannah and engineer High presented detailed drainage reports to Brunswick city council. High outlined a topo map of elevation across the city and proposed three large drains to extend or reconstruct outlets along Howe Mansfield and along the Weiemrian area to prevent flooding. Kops’ survey covered Brunswick’s topography and urged an approved plan with sufficient outlets and new grading for low lots. The council moved to have High’s plans transmitted and referred to the public works committee with authority to act.
