Trustee A H Heyward arrives in city to conduct sale of the bankrupt Joseph Champagne's property in front of the court house at noon tomorrow. Bidders expect strong interest as Bellevue Hotel is offered and buyers aim to open for the summer season starting May 15 with court approval.
The committee on arrangements for the Pythian convention, May 18 to 29, reports strong progress. They aim to accommodate all visitors at reasonable rates with social functions and outings planned to St Simon and Cumberland. Drum fishing and local excursions will be offered to enhance the visit. Citizens are urged to support a record-setting gathering.
A new eatery named Boy’s Quick Lunch opens in the Opera House building. The proprietor brings years of restaurant and hotel experience and promises good cooking. The place aims to attract Brunswick residents and theatergoers with a notably late bill of fare.
The second excursion of the season leaves the wharf at foot of Mansfield street at 9 o clock this morning and returns from Fernandina at 4 30 this afternoon. Tickets at $1.00 include car fare to Amelia Island. Excursions proved popular last season.

May 7 Palos Alabama residents report a strong smoke odor from the slopes raising fears that nearby mines are on fire. Nine men officials are in charge of the situation as emergency reserves rush to the scene.
Chief Taylor nabbed W. B. Higgins and Jim Cox after a false alarm from box 45 at Albany. Both men, city employees, confessed to turning in the alarm and were jailed on bond, awaiting municipal court next Monday.
The steam er Normandy sank twenty miles east of St Johns after striking Great Island during a decoy. The crew reached shore in the vessel’s boat.
Mrs. Rena B Harley reported a successful McRae meeting of the Woman's Home Mission Conference She announced the society will host next year in Brunswick in April with about 150 delegates expected Mrs Harley earned congratulations for securing the next gathering for the city
The Brunswick Musical Association presents a show at Pastime Theatre Tuesday evening featuring a female quartet performing a Blue Danube selection. Other carefully chosen numbers are planned and intermissions will include motion pictures. Proceeds help furnish the new high school auditorium.

A seven year veteran of the Georgia General Assembly with fifteen years as president of Elberton Loan and Savings Bank, Hawes cites banking and finance expertise and proposes improvements to safeguard depositors. He asks Democratic voters to consider his bid in the 1910 primary.
The 1910 state shoot of the National Guard of Georgia is planned for June 13 to 15 near Fort McPherson in Atlanta. Brunswick members are likely to attend. teams of twelve will be chosen from best scores to form the state squad for Camp Perry competition.
Miami May 7 J H Reese editor of the Miami Metropolis and F Stoneman editor of the Miami Morning News Record fought yesterday afternoon in front of the court house. Reese knocked Stoneman down. The dispute began with Stoneman's paper accusing Reese and S Babo Dean manager of the Metropolis of cowardice amid political tensions.
In Atlanta on May 21 a bronze statue of Samuel Spencer first president of the Southern Railway will be unveiled at the Atlanta Terminal Station plaza. The work by Daniel Chester French honors Spencer, funded by thirty thousand railroad employees, and honors his role in Georgia's railway development.
Headquarters set, reception committees named for the biennial meeting of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs in Cincinnati. Thousands of women from across the Union expected to participate as the council opens Tuesday evening and runs for ten days.
