Fourteen Inning Battle Ends In Darkness 8 3

A lengthy Tuesday afternoon game between the High School and Santa Clara teams stretched to the fourteenth inning before darkness halted play. The High school won 8 to 3 with Baumgartner Davis battery and Bunkley’s fielding highlighted. Both teams displayed strong support and expect a rematch to settle the tie.

KB C Kasier and associates of Waycross plan a company to drain most of south Georgia’s Okefenokee swamp. A canal system with a major canal and two outlets to the gulf and Atlantic would open land for agriculture. Cordele Georgia May 4 W H Leahy of the Atlanta Birmingham and Atlantic Railroad worked to promote a southern exhibit at the Ohio Valley Exposition in Cincinnati from August 29 to September 24 1910 He was aided by J W Greer editor of The Wiregrass Country They addressed Cordele and Crisp county pledged cooperation Leahy planned a Brunswick visit and had spent Monday in Waycross to gain support for the exhibit.

The amateur production The Worsted Man played to a near full house with Frank Dunn in the title role delivering a strong performance. Miss Laurene Harmner and Richard Everett stood out in singing and acting while a cast of local talent filled the courting plot with lively charm.
