Great Georgia Daughters elect Hall State President
Miss Kate C. Hall, recently of Brunswick and now residing in Florida, was unanimously elected state president of the King's Daughters after persistent delegates' support. The convention in Brunswick adjourned after three days with Augusta chosen as next year’s meeting city. officers include Recording Secretary Mrs. Brewer and Treasurer Mrs. Kennedy.

Railroad Head Explains Profit of Over $100000
Boston May 2 President Mellen of the New Haven railroad testified before the interstate commerce commission explaining a reported personal profit of about 102000 from trading the company stock. He said the funds were used for political contributions in 1904 including 50000 to the Republican national campaign and other sums to aid state campaigns in New York Connecticut and Rhode Island. The railroad reimbursed him for the money advanced.

Hotel Georgia at Tifton Destroyed by Fire
Fire last night razed the Hotel Georgia in Tifton Georgia causing about 12800 in losses with 9000 insured. The two story frame building built in 1905 belonged to Perryman Moore and was run by J A B Passmore for about a month. He lost roughly 600 personal items valued at 300 insurance. Guests suffered major losses of personal effects totaling several hundred dollars as the semi volunteer fire department struggled to contain the flames after the blaze began around oclock.
