Brunswick Camp Breaks Up After Longshoremen Labor Camp

A Brunswick camp housing 500 to 1,000 longshoremen during February’s strike was closed last night. The Lumbermen’s Association funded the operation, paid workers weekly, and kept the camp guarded. While some laborers remained and office staff stayed briefly, plans to rehouse workers in the city were under consideration as the bay area regained workers.

Southern files answer in rail rate case against Georgia

The Southern railway submits an amendment in the suit with the Georgia railroad commission arguing that enforcing circular 318 would cut freight rates by 25 percent and force annual interest on Georgia portions of mortgage bonds.
