William Penn Watson a 22 year old insurance solicitor in a Douglasville family known fallen ill due to prolonged health issues. He bought four ounces of carbolic acid at Cate’s drug store and took them in his Reynolds street boarding house room. A coroner’s jury heard he planned his death and left farewell notes to his sweetheart and father. His employer Continental Aid Association manager L Cofield expressed no knowledge of his finances or trigger beyond his depression. The body was sent to Douglasville for burial.
