Riot at Stanton Colliery Leaves Fifteen Arrested

Overstreet Receives Severe Sentence In Superior Court
In yesterday's sessions the superior court handled civil and criminal matters. The State charged J E Overstreet with mis demeanor and assault with intent to murder. pleas of guilty were entered in two cases with six months or a 250 fine plus costs. A pistol incident on a train left a colored porter severely injured and drew sympathy for doctor J B Overstreet, who was intoxicated at the time. The grand jury returns indictments for assault and intent to murder in May. The Lang vs Catnall case for Georgia Ta tnal et al continues. The court adjourned after presenting members were excused. Trials resume this morning.
