Lineman Killed by Live Wire on Bay Street Corner
J Fr Barker, a 20 year old lineman for Bell Telephone, died after being shocked by a live Mutual Light and Water Company wire while working on Bay street near Monk avenue. Foreman E Melton acted bravely to lower him from the pole, Barker died at the city hospital shortly before 4 pm. Barker had recently arrived in Brunswick from St Augustine and originated from Sturgis Kentucky.
