Kinard Guilty of Simple Larceny in Glynn Court

Glynn superior court adjournment may stretch to week end as jurors were discharged after a trial of J. C. Kinard. The jury found Kinard guilty of simple larceny and recommended a misdemeanor sentence. Judge Conyers will sentence, and Kinard’s attorney Max Isaac will move for a new trial.

Claude C Sheldon son of Mr and Mrs Chas A Sheldon and brother of C A Sheldon died in Jacksonville after burns from a gasoline explosion at a Lake City steam laundry. Brunswicians reported sighting a new comet named Gomer A 1910 on Saturday and again yesterday evening around 5 30. The object, first mistaken for Halley’s Comet, was visible from Johannesburg via telegram to the Washington Naval Observatory and is expected to reappear this afternoon in a similar location.

First Regiment Band Expands After Nine Enlistments

The First Regiment band held a full rehearsal at the armory with twenty five members and added nine new recruits. Bandmaster John Baumgartner organized instruction for the new members as the group plans for a March inspection and a July state encampment at Chicamauga.
